Yolanda (Yoli) Ortega Mesa passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Raised in Tucson, Arizona, Yoli was the first of nine children born to Socorro and Florencio Ortega. She grew up in Tucson and proudly graduated from Tucson High School.

Yoli was preceded in death by her beautiful daughters, Veronica DeSoto and Marie Mesa; her parents, Socorro and Florencio Ortega; and her sister, Rosa Ortega.

She is survived by her daughter, Ruthie Mesa Lucas; her cherished grandchildren, Brianna, Chris, and Robert Lucas, Nathan Hughes, Haley McIntosh, Katrina Monje, RJ and Taylor Ybarra; and five great-grandchildren.

She also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and her siblings: Frances (Phil) Leon, Lupe (Mike) Ronquillo, Mary (Joe) Romero, Margie Ortega, Martha (Tony) Santa Cruz, Chuy Ortega, and Corie Ortega.

Yoli was full of life and laughter. She loved dancing, listening to music, and spending time at the casino with friends and family. Her vibrant spirit, warmth, and humor will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
