William David
Vigil
September 22, 1951 – January 13, 2022
William D. "Bill" Vigil 70, passed away peacefully at Banner – University Medical Center South on Thursday, January 13, 2022, following a 15 month battle with liver cancer. Although he had health issues for a number of years, his passing came as a shock to his family and friends. He was born on September 22, 1951 in La Junta, Colorado. In 1952 the family left Colorado and moved to Tucson, Arizona. Bill attended Pueblo High School and worked for Chevron Stations until his retirement. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Vigil and sister, Nancy Ann Juarez. Bill is survived by brothers and sisters, Bob Vigil (Judy), Ben Vigil (Linda), Don Vigil, Marilyn Sanchez (Fernando), Jim Vigil (Maria), Pauline Gil (Joe) and Patty Ahrendt and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention. Bill was a very kind and caring person who was loved by his friends and family. He possessed a larger than life personality, which brought joy to those who knew him. Bill faced much adversity in his life, but always maintained a positive attitude and always helped any friend and family in need. He will be truly missed. One of the roles Bill took very seriously was tending to his older brother, Don. Bill always made sure that Don's needs were taken care of before his own. Bill knew how much Don loved attending Arizona Wildcat baseball games on Saturday and Sunday afternoon and he would take Don to those games. Bill also enjoyed sports and supported the University of Arizona Wildcats by attending as many baseball, basketball and football games as he could. Bill also loved to travel to San Diego, San Antonio and Denver to visit and spend time with family. A memorial service will be held at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Church, 2915 E. 36 th Street, on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 9:45 a.m.
