Walter Soto Yturralde, 84, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, March 19th 2026 in Tucson—he would’ve celebrated his 85th birthday this year.
Walter was born on June 1, 1941. He was a skilled mechanic, enjoyed golf, watching sports and old western movies and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved camping and fishing in the beautiful forest of the White Mountains. He also enjoyed the warm beaches of RockyPoint and traveling with his wife Norma. He was most at peace spending time with his family and his dogs.
Walter is survived by his loving wife, Norma Castillo Yturralde; his son, Walter (Rachel) Yturralde II; his eldest granddaughter, Araceli Christina Yturralde; his granddaughter, Graciela Beatriz Yturralde; and his grandson Gabriel Elijah Yturralde. He is also survived by his older brother Raul (Patricia) Yturralde; his sisters Geraldine Yturralde and Joanne Yturralde. Walter will also be deeply missed by his faithful companion Bella, who was by his side in his last moments. Walter was preceded in death by his father Raul P. Yturralde, his mother Eva S. Yturralde, his sister Patricia Y. Yturralde, his younger brother Antonio “Tony” Yturralde and his son Gabriel Daniel Yturralde.
Walter will be greatly missed by his loved ones as his memory will live on in our hearts.
