Obituary

Travis A. Higgins, 54, of Tucson, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on August 13, 2026, surrounded by his wife and family.

Born on July 17, 1972, in Ridgway, Pennsylvania, Travis lived a full life. He moved to Tucson at an early age with his family, attended local schools and graduated from Cholla High School. He went on to college at the University of Arizona where he earned a degree in Chemical Engineering. Travis worked in the aerospace industry at Raytheon for 30 years, ending his career as a Chief Engineer Fellow. From high school to Raytheon, Travis developed lifelong friendships where many have commented on his kindness, humility, patience, intelligence, leadership, and his willingness to help/mentor many who worked with him, including volunteering his time in support of STEM activities for local area schools. Travis had many interests, among them working on cars, specifically his 1972 Cuda and 1961 Dodge D100. He was an avid reader, enjoyed gaming and listening to rock music. He loved sports, cheering on the Arizona Wildcats, but his love for the Buffalo Bills and Sabers hockey was paramount.

Travis is preceded in death by his grandparents and his father John Higgins. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Ysette, his mother and stepfather, Susan and Bill Mason, sister Shay Arevalo, and nephew Zak Mason (Sara). Travis is also survived by a large extended family of in-laws who admire and love him very much and will miss him dearly at their many family gatherings.
