Tom's life began on March 20, 1958, born in San Manuel, AZ to parents Donald and Norma Thompson, now deceased.

Tom is survived by his wife of 45 years, Roseanna. He is also survived by his stepdaughter Phoebe Matrecito; stepson Eraclio (Chip) Matrecito; step grandchildren, Drew Fausto, Ryne Fausto, Clarissa Mendoza, Suzanna Mendoza; and great grandchildren, Aemillia, Ryne II and Zeke. Tom is also survived by his sister Lora Macias; niece Kristen and her daughter Madison; nephew Jeffery (Alexandria), their children Vivienne and Eliott; aunt Thelma Burlbaugh; cousins Brian Burlbaugh (Debbie) and their children Jake and Heather and  Danny Hamilton (Alice) and their daughters Jennifer and Heather.

His career in law enforcement began in 1980 with the Pima County Sheriff's Office, retiring after 28 years at the rank of Sergeant. After retirement, Tom and Roseanna enjoyed traveling, weekend barbecues, family gatherings, football games and his second home in Cancun. Let us not forget his cat Petunia (Angel).
