IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sylvia H.
Ramos
September 26, 1941 – November 4, 2024
Sylvia Helen Ramos, 83, of Tucson AZ, passed away on October 4th, 2024, peacefully in her home surrounded by her family.
Born on September 26th, 1941, as a 3rd generation Tucsonan, Sylvia touched and influenced many lives, working for Tucson Unified School District for 20 plus years as an Administration Assistant to being a faithful housewife raising her and Reynaldo's 3 kids. Sylvia is survived by her brother, Richard Bachman, her kids Camille, Reinaldo and Andres Ramos, and her 9 grandchildren and first great grandchild.
Sylvia was the backbone, heart, and soul of her family. She insisted on cooking and having family over every Sunday night for dinner. She sacrificed herself to protect everyone she cared about with comfort, love, and compassion. If anyone needed a shoulder to rest their head-on, it was hers that everyone went to.
Sylvia used her passion of creativity to make natural southwest landscaping artwork. The quails and roadrunners she drew were a small reflection of her beauty, grace and attitude in life. The quails represented her family and how they all stuck together for one another. And the roadrunner represented how, when necessary, she had the strength and cunning to battle a rattlesnake. Sylvia's curiosity carried over to her love for travel and to explore different areas and landscapes of the world with her friends and family. All the while, experimenting and enjoying different culinary dishes. Sunday night dinners will never be the same again. Those in heaven are lucky to eat her famous tacos and salsa.
Sylvia's services will be held on November 18th, 2024, at 9:00am at St. Joseph's Catholic Parish (215 S. Craycroft Rd, Tucson, AZ 85711). An open house reception following will be at Andres and April Ramos' residence starting at 3pm. (875 W. Samalayuca, Tucson, AZ 85704)
