Obituary

Sylvia Bracamonte Moreno, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 27, 2023, at the age of 68 surrounded by family and friends in her home. She is survived by her loving husband Manuel Moreno, children Manuel Moreno (Becky), Monique (Paul) Rivera, Javier Moreno, along with grandchildren, Angel, Pablo, Gabriel, Araceli, Sophia, Santos, Gabriella, Mychael, her loving mother Elisa Dueñas Bracamonte, siblings, Ray (Peggy) Bracamonte, Richard (Maria) Bracamonte, Bobby (Angela) Bracamonte, Alfred (Terry) Bracamonte, George Bracamonte, Mary (Luigi) Leyva. Sylvia was preceded in death by her father, Raymundo Bracamonte, Mother-in-law Catalina Moreno, and Father-in-law Manuel Moreno. Sylvia was blessed with numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren that will miss her dearly.

Sylvia was born in Bisbee, Arizona and moved to Tucson with her family, where she continued to live. She was a proud Warrior and graduated from Pueblo High School and the University of Arizona with Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Sylvia worked her way from LPN to RN supporting her family, attending college and being there for anyone in need. This was because of her love for everyone; it was a true sentiment of her many years that she worked doing what she truly loved, being a nurse. She was always that caring voice, soft touch, and had supportive words for several families, friends, and patients for over forty-three (43) years between Tucson Medical Center and St. Joseph's Hospital. Sylvia was a huge sports fan for all University of Arizona sports and especially the Arizona Diamondbacks. She enjoyed bonding with family and friends as much as possible, reading a good book, her monthly luncheons with friends from high school and her shopping trips/weekend getaways with her work buddies but most of all she enjoyed the quality time with her grandchildren as this was her biggest blessing.

We are asking in lieu of flowers, please donate to Tucson Medical Center Foundation, Sylvia Moreno Scholarship to help support other young adults wanting to become a nurse. Sylvia will always be remembered for what a great nurse she was and this scholarship would be her gift to others. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude for the wonderful care Sylvia received at home from family and friends during her battle with Parkinson's.

In accordance with Sylvia's wishes, there will be no viewing. Rosary will be held on Thursday, November 9th at 9:30am followed by funeral mass to follow at St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Ave., Tucson Az 85701
