Steven
Gallego
March 21, 1948 – September 4, 2025
Steven Gallego, 77, of Tucson, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him.
Born on March 21, 1948, in Tucson, Steven was the son of Francisco and Juanita Gallego. After graduating from Salpointe Catholic High School, he proudly served his country with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, stationed at Cam Ranh Bay. His years of service shaped his sense of duty and resilience, qualities which he carried through the rest of his life.
Following his military service, Steven built a long and successful career with the phone company, where he was respected for his skill, reliability, and work ethic. Outside of work, he found joy in music, hunting, and shooting pool with his friends.
Though Steven attempted to portray a tough exterior, those who knew him recognized his generous spirit, steady dependability, and quiet acts of kindness.
He is survived by his sister Judith Ann 'Judy' Gallego, his eight children – Juan, Steve Jr., Rick, Joe, Daniel, Griselda, Francisco, and Jesus – along with his many grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Frank 'Pancho' Gallego.
Steven's life was defined by loyalty, love of family, and service to others. He will be deeply missed, but his silent strength and generosity will continue to inspire all who knew him.
