Stacy Redondo-Santa

February 26, 1971 – April 17, 2023
Beloved wife, mother, daughter and sister passed away suddenly on Monday April 17, 2023. She leaves behind husband David Santa Cruz, children Chad, Justin and Kali Schulte, Parents Rene and Alice Redondo, sister Jeanne Redondo Bass, brother-in-law Matt Bass, nephew and godson Kaden Bass, niece and goddaughter Delaney Bass, uncles, aunts, lots of cousins, extended family and many friends.
Stacy was a fourth generation Tucsonan, an excellent softball player and coach. She graduated from Cholla High School, then the University of Arizona with degrees in S panish and Education, received a master's degree in childhood development from Northern Arizona University. Stacy was a proud member of the first two national softball championship teams at the UofA (1991 and 1993). She was an assistant coach and later head coach for softball at Salpointe Catholic High School and is in their Hall of Fame.
Stacy loved teaching and was an elementary teacher for Tucson Unified School District. She taught at Hollinger, Lynn-Urquides, C.E. Rose, Drachman Montessori Magnet School, and lastly at Roskruge Bi-lingual Magnet School where she taught third grade and middle school Gate Programs . She was loved by her students and parents that often came up to her and expressed their gratitude.
Stacy was a very social person, had a multitude of friends and was a huge user of social media. She was a die-hard Wildcat. Stacy enjoyed dressing up and the family encourages all that attend her services to wear UofA colors/garb, folklorico or bright colors to the funeral to honor her. Stacy loved life and quite often wore bright colors to these events.
Visitation will be Friday May 5 from 8-9 a m at Carrillo's Tucson Mortuary, 234 South Stone Avenue, Rosary at 9:30 am and mass at 10 am at St Augustine Cathedral next door. Burial immediately afterwards, approximately 11:30 am at Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 North Oracle Road.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Roskruge PTA, 501 East 6th Street, Tucson, AZ 85705. The funds will be designated to reimburse teachers for out of pockets classroom supplies. For other payment options, contact Ricardo Gomez at 520-870-0409.
