Obituary

Socorro “Coyo” Lucero Rocha, age 73, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, surrounded by love. She was born on April 17, 1952, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Ildefonzo Lucero and Mathias Perez. Raised alongside her siblings in Sonora, Mexico, Socorro often reflected on her upbringing, where hard work, honesty, and resilience became the guiding pillars of her life.

At the age of 15, Socorro moved to the United States and made her home in Tucson, Arizona, where she built a life rooted in faith, family, and service to others. She found joy and pride in her work, always willing to lend a helping hand, and approached life with a determined “get-it-done” spirit. Known for her stylish outfits and beautiful jewelry, she carried herself with grace and confidence.

Socorro had a deep love for God and found beauty in His word, which guided her throughout her life. She enjoyed gospel music, often singing with joy, and was a gifted storyteller who brought laughter and warmth to every gathering. Her family and friends will forever cherish her vibrant spirit, her kindness, and the love she shared so freely.

She is reunited in eternal peace with her parents; her siblings Manuel, and Irma; her beloved daughter Beatriz; and her granddaughter Brianna.

Socorro is lovingly remembered by her sons, Juan Rocha and Daniel Rocha; her seven siblings, Josefina, Ildefonzo, Luis Carlos, Rafaela, Cruz Esthela, Martha Alicia, and Raquel; her 10 grandchildren; and her 7 great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of the Valley for their compassionate care and support during this time.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, and Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Carrillo’s Tucson Mortuary. A service will be recited at 11:00 AM on March 31, 2026, with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

Socorro’s life was a testament to love, strength, and faith. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

We love you, Coyo, and will miss you endlessly.
