Socorro (Beltran) Sandoval Figueroa, lovingly known as "Nana" and "Abue" passed away peacefully with comfortable hospice care on August 13, 2025, in her hometown Tucson, Arizona of 83 years at the remarkable age of 94. Born on February 14, 1931 in Tamazula, Durango Mexico. Socorro has been the matriarch of our family, a pillar of strength, resilience and loving care of family, with her deep devotion to her catholic faith and an avid participant and support of Santa Cruz Catholic Church.
For decades Socorro made her home in the Barrio, where she nurtured and lovingly embraced generations of family. She was not just a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, abuelita "Abue", godmother, aunt, cousin, and caring blessing to many, she was the trusted heart of her expanding immediate and extended family. Plus, of many friends and children she cared for in past years with devotion. Her enduring spirit for care and aid to family, sharing her wisdom and many life lessons has left a legacy of the values, beliefs and gifts of the love she expressed directly in her actions. Socorro always stayed true to her name "Socorro", meaning "help, aid and relief " in Spanish. With the name origins from "Nuestra Senora del Socorro", translating in "Our Lady of Perpetual Help". This displayed in compassion, mercy and supporting one another. Be it in faith, family and care with empathy, compassion, and love. Having also in this family, expressing that help and aid at times with challenging spirited wisdom, to learn from ones life lessons and those she also shared in kind.
Socorro's family expands to a multitude of loving relatives, including family and friends to the end, including her devoted Daughter Guadalupe "Lupita" Figueroa Rodriguez (Gary). Her Loving Grandchildren Adolfo Francisco Figueroa (Maria Magdalena), David Anthony Figueroa, Gabriel A. Figueroa (Monique A. Mata), Adrian Adolfo Figueroa (Katie Marie Ferguson), Joanne Anderson, Marisa Angela Rodriguez Guthrie (Joseph Michael), Mariah Ariana Rodriguez and including with pride many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

As we share our prayers and celebrate her life well lived, we pay respects to Socorro S. Figueroa with a life of faith, grace, courage and dignity. Socorro leaves behind a legacy of caring aid to our family and friends that shall continue to inspire here forward. Socorro's presence will be deeply missed but her spirit will forever be shared in the hearts of all who had the privilege to share in her life. Con Mucho Amorsito! Te Amo Simpre Mami, Mom, Nana, y Abue!
