Simon was called home by our Heavenly Father. He passed away peacefully just days before his 98th birthday.

Simon is survived by his sister Rosie Arriaga; daughters Melinda Castañeda and Julie Castañeda; daughter-in-law Sandra Castañeda; grandchildren, James and Andrew Castañeda, and Alicia Dominga Simon; great-grandchildren Aleia and Adelynn Castañeda; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Simon was preceded in death by his wife Lucy and son Arthur Castañeda; parents Pablo and Dominga Castañeda; brothers Manual, Paul, Pete, and Jesus Castañeda and sisters Carmen Gutierrez and Rachel Andrade.

Simon was born in Jerome, Arizona, and in 1952 he moved to Tucson.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After serving his country he returned to Tucson to start a family and he built a career spanning 35 years at Holmes Tuttle Ford.

Simon will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to family, his generous spirit, sense of humor and integrity.   His presence touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed.
