Sara Garcia passed away peacefully on August 15, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones.

Sara was born in Saric, Sonora on April 11, 1932 and was known for her fierce and loving spirit. Sara was an incredible person who touched the lives of many. She was a breast cancer survivor who was always kind and loving to everyone, and was affectionately referred to as "Nana" by many. She was a great cook and her tamales were legendary. Sunday carne asada dinners were some of her favorite times, and she loved drinking cafecito while surrounded by her family and friends. She had a passion for mariachi music, flowers, gardening, cooking, and watching novelas.

Sara is survived by her son, Elio Martinez; daughter, Catalina McCauley; son, Lionel Duarte (Lisa Duarte); daughter, Grace Camacho (Hector Camacho); and daughter, Hilda Paz (Alex Paz); and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sara was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Garcia; her parents were Manuel and Cleotilde Soto.

Family and friends of Sara are invited to join in a memorial service to celebrate her life on August 22nd 2023 at 10am at St. Augustine Cathedral located at, 192 S Stone Ave Tucson, AZ 85701. A celebration of life reception will take place immediately after at the Garcia residence, 920 W. Franklin St. Expressions of condolences to the family and other wishes may be shared at this time.
