Samson John Bess, born June 7, 1986 in Douglas, Arizona, unexpectedly passed away on May 9, 2024 in Tucson, Arizona, surrounded by loving and devoted family.

Sammy, as he was affectionately called, had a smile that could light up any room, and laughter which was heartfelt and filled with joy. He loved sodas, car rides, firetrucks, and especially his family. His favorite phrase was, "I call my sister," and his love for her never faded, even in his last moments on this earth. Samson attended the Achieve Builds Confidence, Inc. Day Program during the week, participating in the special needs community with their program for 16 years. He lived in a group home with his friends Andrew and Alex, along with several caretakers who supported him through his final moments, and who will cherish his memory forever.

Samson is preceded in death by his father, George C. Gill, Sr., and his uncle, Tony Cortez Rose. He is survived by his sister, Delilah Carrasco (brother-in-law, Rob Carrasco), brother, Isaac Garcia, favorite niece, Mya Carrasco, favorite nephew, Dylan Carrasco, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were as close as family.

In lieu of flowers, you may make a contribution in Samson's name to the non-profit organization, Achieve is More, 3079 W. Ina Rd., Tucson, Arizona 85741, helping them to continue to provide support and services to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jaime Rose, Zachary Baldenegro, Johnny Bess, Cuba Bess, Moise Igomokelo and Michael Gebreslasie.
