Obituary

Robert Theodore “Bob” Brandt, 79, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on April 5, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Bob was born on April 15, 1946, in Staten Island, New York, he was the son of Theodore and Helen Brandt and grew up in Tottenville. He attended Tottenville High School, where he met and courted his longtime love and neighbor, Janet Argenziano. They married on August 12, 1966. In 1972 Bob and Janet moved with their two young children to Tucson Arizona, following Janet’s family, and there he raised his family.

Bob was employed for 40 years at Asarco Copper Mine in southern Arizona, retiring as General Foreman. He managed mill operations and earned the respect and admiration of colleagues throughout his career.

Above all else he was a devoted father and husband who raised two sons, imparting values of faith, integrity, a strong work ethic, respect, humility, and patriotism.

A genuinely good man, Bob was easygoing, never spoke poorly of others, and was always the first to offer a helping hand to anyone, AND he was the master of puns and dad-jokes. Deeply devoted to family, he cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved and cared for his wife unwaveringly until the end.

Bob was an active Freemason and Past Master of Adobe Lodge 41 in Tucson as well as a devoted Catholic and proud member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Pius Church in Tucson.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janet Brandt; Sister Eileen Hulnick; his sons, Robert (Cookie) and Gary (Karen) Brandt; grandchildren Garrett Brandt, Madison Hestad, Sydney Brandt, Emily Brandt, Nicole Moses and Matthew Gonzales, great-grandchildren Reagan and Odin Brandt.

If you ever asked him, he would tell you “I’ve lived a great life” and Bob always told us he was “Livin the Dream”

Please join us to celebrate and remember Robert “Bob” Brandt at his memorial service, that will be held at St. Pius Catholic Friday May 08, 2026 at 10:00 am.
