IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ricardo M.
"Dickie" Lopez
August 18, 1960 – October 28, 2024
Ricardo "Dickie" M. Lopez, was a caring husband, father, Dad- Dad (grandfather), brother, and friend. He left this world suddenly on October 28, 2024 at age 64. Dickie was born on August 18, 1960 to Ricardo and Margaret Lopez in Tucson, Arizona as the fourth of five children. Dickie attended Tucson High School where he continued his love for playing baseball and met the love of his life; Martha and started their journey as spouses on April 23, 1983.
Dickie spent his life of service of 25 years with the Air National Guard and 36+ years with the City of Tucson Water Dept. His dedication to his work and his commitment to excellence set him apart as a true mentor and leader among his peers. These traits he also passed onto his children, instilling that they always try their best at everything and was proud of them and continued to guide them every step of the way.
His passion for woodwork, auto mechanics and his love for the Kansas City Chiefs will forever be remembered. Giving everyone nicknames will also be a trait that will be remembered, especially if you were lucky enough to have received one from him.
His family was his pride and joy. He showed unconditional love to his family and always made sure to say I Love You bigga much and would never let anyone leave the house without their car being checked and safe to hit the road or receiving a very detailed carwash. He was always a person you could count on and didn't hesitate to help anyone in need.
He embodied the role of Dad-Dad (grandfather) with so much love and passion for all his grandkids. No matter what they needed he was there to help and support them. The strength and dedication he had in his careers, he gave the same to his grandkids whole heartily.
Dickie was predeceased by his parents, Ricardo and Margaret Lopez.
He is survived by his wife, Martha, his daughter Celina (Brad) and his son Matthew (Cristian). Forever cherished and remembered as Dad-Dad by Alexis, Anthony, Alyana, Martin, Angelo, Leilani and Camila. His memory lives on with his sister in law Barbara Rivera and his nieces, nephews and godchildren Adrian (Andrew) , Roberto "Tito", Amanda and Areanna. His honorary daughter, Samantha (Jose Ramos) and Jaelin and Juliana.
He is also survived by his sisters.
Your legacy will forever live on through the countless lives you touched and the lessons you taught us. Though we mourn your loss, we also celebrate the incredible life you lived. Thank you for being the best husband, father, nino, dad-dad and friend any of us could have ever asked for. We love you, we miss you, and we will continue to make you proud.
