January 2, 1957 – December 28, 2024
With heavy hearts, Rey R. Trinidad, 67 years old, passed away on December 28th 2024, peacefully at home in Tucson, Az. Rey is known by all, as an impactful, calm, generous, warm, humorous soul. A graduate of Tucson High School from Class of 1975. Rey's work ethic landed him many opportunities and his zest for learning allowed him more than one career in life. He worked for IBM for more than 20 years as a Network Engineer and retired from the VA Hospital as a SPD Technician. Alongside being a beloved husband, phenomenal father, and amazing brother he is remembered by many as Coach Rey. He started his softball journey with El Rio Bobby Sox and this lifelong career resulted in impacting the lives of hundreds of girls. Many remember Rey fondly from his years coaching whether it be the players, parents or coaches. Rey has always been a mentor to all he meets. His words have a way of staying with you and his smile is imprinted in our memories.
To know Rey was to love him. Rey loved to laugh, a true family man and loyal friend. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and camping with his friends and family. A secret movie buff from the classics - science fiction. Rey was an avid sports fan outside of Softball, following college
football, NFL, and college basketball; he could tell you history, random stats, players details and talk strategy. Rey had a talent for writing, elegantly putting forth his thoughts into written word. He loved going on trips with his wife Barbara and making visits to the Casino.
Rey is preceded in death by his Son, Rey R Trinidad Jr., Brother-in-law Joseph Vidal, Sister-in-law Teresa Frausto, Mother-in-law Socorro Borboa and Nana Maria Jesus Romero. Rey is survived by his wife Barbara Trinidad, daughters Renata and Michelle, 2 grandchildren
and niece. Also survived by his parents: Reymundo and Ramona Trinidad. Rey, the eldest of 8, Survived by his sisters: Maria Medina (Francisco), Cecilia Lopez (Valentin), Connie Padilla (Manny), Jesus "Chapo" (Debbie), Gerardo "Jerry" (Andrea), Rachel, and Rosangela. In-law family: Manny Frausto (Kathy), Marcos Frausto (Cassie), Mirna Ramos (John), Christina Roberts, Debbie Mejia (Joe) and many nieces and nephews.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. The Trinidad's would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to all the family, friends, Arizona
Oncology and weekday hospice nurses.
