Rebecca Ann "Becky" Barraza, age 77, passed away on March 22nd, 2025. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and best friend to many. Becky will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Born on April 23, 1947, in Tucson, Arizona, to Toribio and Mary Zavala, Becky grew up in a close-knit family. She often spoke fondly of her childhood memories with her sisters, many cousins, and grandparents. Becky graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in elementary education.

A dedicated and talented educator, Becky had a natural gift for teaching. Even as a young child, she successfully taught her younger cousins and sisters to read. She retired after a fulfilling 35-year career in elementary education.

Becky will be remembered for her genuine kindness and her remarkable ability to make everyone feel warm and welcome. She cherished her lifelong friendships and created many treasured memories over the years.

Becky is survived by her husband of 54 years, Frank Barraza; her sisters, Margaret (Eric) Craine and Christine (Walter) Zavala-Parry; her children, Daniel (Hannah) Barraza and Anna Barraza; and her three precious grandchildren, Ava Rebecca, Daniel, and Ryan. Becky was preceded in death by her parents.

To know Becky was to love her. We will always carry her love and memory in our hearts.

The rosary and funeral mass will be held at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1300 N Greasewood Rd., Tucson, AZ, on April 4th, 2025 starting at 10am. A reception will follow the service.
