Raymond R. Villegas

08/21/77 - 12/22/22

With our hearts broken, we announce our beloved Dad, Raymond (Ray) R. Villegas, born August 21st, 1977, earned his angel wings December 22, 2022. In our anguish, we find comfort imagining that as he was surrounded by the love of his family in his final moments, he finally let go of his pain and stepped into the serenity of the soft sand on his favorite beach in Paradise. A cool, peaceful breeze washes over him, the rush of blue waves across his feet and his eyes gazing at the brilliant sunset in his Heaven.

Ray Villegas, took on the tough but rewarding role of becoming our dad at the age of 16 the first time he took his daughter Elizabeth into his loving arms. He later did the same, lovingly welcoming his daughters Viviana and Reanna as well as his four beautiful grandchildren. He was always so protective of those he loved, and after graduating from Tucson High, our Dad did whatever he could to put a roof over our head, clothes on our backs and food on our table. He enjoyed bonding with his dad and brothers on hunting and fishing trips. Our Dad loved listening to his favorite oldies and fixing up old school cars in his spare time. We have lots of good memories, laughing as we held the flashlight for him as he worked under the hood. He taught his girls all about classic cars and changing tires. To love Ray was to love The Washington Redskins (Commanders) Football (or else!) His favorite things to wear were a big smile and his favorite jersey. Our dad was so funny! We could joke around and laugh with him, but we could also talk to him about anything else in our lives. Our Dad taught us right from wrong and will always remember when he would pick his chin up and give us those big eyes when we were in trouble. Our safest place were his big bear hugs and how his girls and grandkids always knew his love would be with us no matter where he was. We know this is still true, Dad. He worked hard but when he could, he made sure he spent time taking his family on vacation to his favorite place; the beach. There, he found his peace in the chaos that was life. We are thankful God let us have our Dad for those few precious years, but we will forever have to make sense out of why he left us so soon. We were blessed to be able to tell him how much he is loved and he left us with peace and love in his heart knowing he was the best son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, Tata and of course the best Dad in the world.

Raymond R. Villegas is survived by his beloved daughters; Elizabeth (Jacob),Viviana, Reanna, His parents; Frances Ochoa and Gabriel Villegas. His brother Gabriel (Nisreen); sisters Veronica (David), Jessica, Liz (Angel); His precious grandchildren; Izaiah, Leila, Aaliyah, Jayce. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Our family are extremely grateful to all who gave their time and cared for our Dad while he was sick in the hospital; especially to Rebecca Overholt for her love and hardly leaving his side.

Any man can be a father, but it takes a lifetime to be a Dad. Thank you for loving us for all of yours! We love you, and know you will be waiting for us, arms open for that big hug.

We pray you will finally rest in eternal peace, until we meet again.
