It is with heavy hearts and tremendous sadness we announce the passing of Peter Daniel Ortiz, 34, a beloved Son, Brother, Father, and Friend.

Peter is preceded in death by his father, Rudy Ortiz; grandfather, Rudy Ortiz Sr.; grandmother, Alice Cole; uncle, Paul Ortiz and best friend, Robert A. Robles. He is survived by his mother, Geraldine Ortiz; stepfather, Tony Matz, and his children, Jacelle, Martin, Aviana, Gabriella, and Gianna. He also leaves behind his sister, Melissa Cady and stepbrothers, Adam, and Allen Matz. Peter will also be missed by his nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Peter loved the outdoors and especially fishing. He could always be found tinkering around in the shed or cleaning the yard. Peter was a huge Green Bay Packers, New York Yankees and U of A fan! He was a wrestler in high school. He was fun-loving and very charismatic, he loved joking around and making everyone laugh. He was so outgoing and loved to talk to people. For a time, he was a lighting technician and recently decided to go to barber school.

It's so very hard to understand why it was your time to go, we will remember you always and the love we have for you will live on forever. Till we see you again rest easy and watch over us and your beautiful children.
