Pedro V. Espino was born on July 7, 1935 to Elena V. Espino. On August 31, 2026, the Espino family gained an angel. He was at the young age of 91 when he peacefully passed, surrounded by his loved ones.

Pedro grew up in South Tucson with his mother and two siblings. He graduated from Tucson High School. At the age of 20, he met the love of his life, Armida Grijalva. Pedro and Armida married a couple of years later and created a beautiful family for decades to come, with all children and grandchildren getting their good looks from Pedro, as he would say.

Pedro was a hard worker throughout his life, retiring from the Tucson Unified School District. If he wasn’t working, he was enjoying the dog and horse races. He loved the races so much that he would take his children, and eventually grandchildren, and teach them how to place bets. His passion for betting didn’t stop there. Once he was retired, his favorite hobby became sneaking off to the casino with his wife.

Pedro is survived by his wife, Armida G. Espino; his sons, Pete Espino (Sylvia), Richard Espino (Francis), Jaime Espino (Annie); his daughter, Monica Espino (Christina); and his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother Elena, sister Socorro, brother Manny, grandson Ricky Espino and granddaughter Monique Sanders.
