Pablo Fidel Hernandez (Juni) passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, September 01, 2022.
He was born on April 24, 1942 in Santa Clara, New Mexico to parents, Pablo and Anselma Hernandez.
In 1959, Pablo joined the US Navy and served 4 years active duty and two years Naval Reserve. He served on the USS Rochester in the Pacific Ocean and visited Hawaii, San Francisco, Okinawa, Philippines amongst other locations.
After his honorable discharge from the US Navy, Pablo moved to Arizona in 1963 where he met his wife, Erma. Together they had 4 children, Paul (Terry) Jr., Tina (George), Kathy (Frank) and Becky (Oscar). Later they adopted Danny, Rose and Josie. Pablo's legacy includes 25 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Pablo was an accomplished upholsterer, handyman, and an all-around jack of all trades.
His professional career began in May of 1970 with the South Tucson Fire Department as a fire fighter. He worked his way up and held positions of Engineer, Building Inspector and Battalion Chief. After twenty years he retired in May of 1990.
Pablo's interests included spending time with family and friends, cooking, music, camping, fishing and sports. He played shortstop and first base for his Fire Station softball team. His favorite teams included the University of Arizona, LA Rams, and the AZ Diamondbacks.
Pablo is preceded in death by his wife Erma, parents Pablo and Anselma, and numerous siblings.
He is survived by his sister Emma and brothers Fred, Gonzalo, Mike and Tony.
Everyone who knew Pablo loved his sense of humor and felt his big heart. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
