Orlando Armando
Quiroga
August 21, 1957 – June 9, 2023
Orlando A. Quiroga, 65, entered into the presence of our Heavenly Father on June 9, 2023. Orlando was born in Patagonia, AZ, on August 21, 1957, and grew up in South Tucson. He was a graduate of Sunnyside High School, where he played baseball.
After graduating from high school, Orlando attended NAU and Pima Community College. While at Pima College, Orlando was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 24th round of the 1977 MLB June Amateur Draft. Unfortunately, Orlando suffered a shoulder injury, ending his professional baseball career.
Aside from his love for baseball, Orlando enjoyed golfing, coaching Little League Baseball, and spending time with his grandson, Alex. After many years, he retired from Golden Eagle Distributors
Orlando was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his son, Orlando Andres, his son-in-law, Jeffrey, and his grandson, Alexander Paul. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Martin Quintero (Blanca), Fernando Quintero (Lydia), Socorro Diaz (Jose), Leticia Alameda (Roy), Manuela Quintero, and many nieces and nephews. He leaves behind his best friends, his dogs, Olivia, Apollo and Lucky, whom he loved very much.
Orlando is preceded in death by his loving wife, Petra Maria, his daughter, Celina and his parents, Adan and Helen Quiroga.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 19, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 9:30 a.m., at Carrillo's Mortuary; 240 N. Stone Avenue. Funeral mass, 11:00 a.m. at Saint Margaret's Catholic Church, 801 N. Grande Avenue; followed by interment at Holy Hope Cemetery.
