Michael P. Elias, affectionately known as "Mikey," passed away on June 1, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 62, surrounded by loved ones. Born on May 11, 1962, in Tucson, Michael spent his life in the community he loved.
Michael was the beloved partner of Lori Rice. He leaves behind his daughters, Andrea Salcido (Gabriel) and Nichole Jacobson (Joe). He was a devoted grandfather to Gabriel, Isabel, Madelyn, and McKenna. Michael is also survived by his brothers, Arnold Elias (Mary Carol), Fred Elias (Stacie), and Dennis Elias (Alice). He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha and Arnold Elias.
Michael graduated from Salpointe High School in 1980 and briefly attended Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. He returned to Tucson and began a distinguished career at Tucson Electric Power on June 5, 1984. Starting as an apprentice, he became a Journeyman Lineman in 1989, a Crew Leader on July 31, 2006, and ultimately a Troubleman on April 13, 2015. Michael dedicated his expertise and passion to TEP until his retirement on November 1, 2022.
Outside of his professional life, Michael loved spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed picking up his grandkids from school and attending their sporting events. A passionate Harley-Davidson enthusiast, Michael found joy in riding his motorcycle to various destinations, exploring new places and the open road. His brotherhood with his fellow riders was incredibly important to him, providing a close-knit community that shared his love for riding.
Services will be held at Most Holy Trinity Parish, located at 1300 Greasewood Rd, Tucson, AZ, 85745, on Friday, June 14. The Rosary will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a Mass at 10:30 am. A reception will be held in the church hall after the Mass.
Michael's warmth, dedication, and love for his family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
