It is with deepest sorrow, we declare that Martha Josephine Slate entered her eternal rest on April 7, 2026. Her kind, visible presence will be immensely missed and her spirit will live in our hearts forever. Martha was a kind and generous woman with the most delicate laugh and exquisite smile. 

Martha was born and raised in Tucson, AZ to John Henry Slate, and Elena Slate, among her siblings Mary Martin, Madeline Manzo, Marcia Slate, and John Slate. She will be dearly missed by her husband Raul G Lopez, her daughter Rena J Slate, her daughter Kelly J Perez (Enrique Perez), her son Tommy J Lopez (Amy Lopez), and her daughter Nicole S Lopez (Cesar Bojorquez Sr). Martha was a devoted Grandmother to Zayna, Teanna, Mercedez, Viah, Mila J, Joseph (Maryntia), Jacob, Enrique Jr, Celine, Natalie, Alexander, Sebastian, Cesar Jr, and Aiden. 

Martha was also a dedicated Great Grandmother to Omari, Bryson, and Messiah. She loved and adored her fur baby Bones, her cat, who she treated like one of her children. 

Martha loved gardening, collecting antiques, and making a home for her family. She was an amazing cook, a source of love and peace, and an understanding mother and friend. She will be in our hearts and memory always and is dearly missed. Be at peace Mommy. Rest in paradise surrounded by all the angels and within God’s perfect hands.
