Mark Edward Doe's Obituary

Mark Doe, grew up in Barrio Hollywood,  something he was very proud and passionate about.  He often said "Westside is the best side." In his youth, he played baseball with the "Western" team and developed lifelong relationships with many of his teammates, whom he considered brothers. Mark's passions were hunting, fishing, dancing, singing, family gatherings, inspiring many with his words of wisdom, and above all his faith in God. Mark was very fond of his older brother, Tony, or "Carnal" as he often  referred to him as and shared stories of their hunting experiences and how Tony played a significant factor in his younger days. Mark also adored his younger brother or "Carnal" Patrick. The two were inseparable. He often spoke of Patrick's genuine heart and willingness to help anyone in need.  He also loved and valued the relationship he maintained with his Mom, Rosalena and Virginia (Amparo) Father, Henry (Guero) and sisters Eva and Tracy, brothers Henry and Troy. Mark's greatest joy were his 6 children and his granddaughter.  Mark was the life of the party and often shared life experiences which molded him to person we all loved. When he told a story he captured the attention of all around him and was very animated. He was so expressive that one felt all the emotion and excitement of the story. He was very articulate and always had witty responses. One of his frequently used quotes is "I see you playa."  His way of saying he recognized one's achievements. After a few drinks,  he often was heard saying out loud "I hate when I look in the mirror and I'm the sexiest person in the room." Although, he survived Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer, he never let that define him. Mark's perspective on life was to be grateful each day we woke as it was a blessing. Every morning Mark shared an optimistic or inspirational meme and/or a video of himself speaking about these topics. He often stated "I have a pocket full of seeds and if I plant 500 seeds and only one grows than I consider it a success." The truth is Mark planted 100% of the seeds he planted. That is evident by the numerous sentiments the family has received during this tragedy. Mark was employed by Chula Vista Landscaping in September 2019, as a Landscaper. During his employment he never missed a day and was always punctual, which is puzzling (one of his favorite words). If you knew Mark, he was ALWAYS late. If he said he would be there in 5 minutes that truly meant 2 hours.  One had to clarify if that was real time or "Mark" time. His superiors referred to him as hard working and dedicated and spoke how he was the jokester and always instilling to find the good in people. One of Mark's favorite books was the "The Four Agreements" written by Don Miguel Ruiz. These four simple agreements are:
*Be impeccable with your word
*Don't take anything personally
*Don't make assumptions
*Always do your best
Mark strived to speak of these everyday and most importantly to practice them. Was Mark perfect? No. Did he have flaws? Yes, but he sought to be a better version of himself than he was the day before. Anyone who met Mark was mesmerized by his charismatic personality and optimistic outlook on life. Mark's legacy will live on in our hearts and minds of everyone he interacted with as well as those he influenced, but never met. Mark was a force to be reckoned with, fearless and adventurous. yet willing to help anyone in need. Mark without a doubt had a purpose in life. There were no farewell words spoken, no time to say goodbye,  you were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why. His  life was stolen from all who loved him and those he inspired,  the one thing that remains and can NEVER be taken are the memories, laughs and influential words he shared. LEGENDS NEVER DIE!

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, precautions are enforced limiting the amount of people attending services. Therefore, funeral services will be private.
