Maria Dolores Valles (Paredes), a beacon of love and strength, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2024, at the age of 87 in Tucson, Arizona. Born on March 22, 1936, in Nogales, Sonora, Maria was more than a matriarch; she was a superhero mom, sister, a beloved Nana, Tia, Nina, Nani, and the heart of a vast family circle that extended beyond blood to include neighborhood kids, foster children, and anyone in need.

Maria's radiant smile could light up any room, and her wisdom and unconditional love were her true superpowers. She was a kind and wholehearted woman whose exceptional cooking could feed an army, but it was her capacity to nurture and love that truly made her home a sanctuary for many. Maria's arms were always open, welcoming everyone and anyone into her heart and home.

She is cherished in memory by her loving sons, Conrado (Christina) and Ricardo (Irma); daughters, Gloria (Gerardo) and Lupita (Ubaldo); brother, Eduardo Paredes (Rita); sisters, Gloria Silvas (+Martin) and Maria Estella Varela (Norberto); six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five furry grandchildren. Maria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Conrado L. Valles, and her parents, Eduardo E. Paredes and Dolores R. Paredes.

An exemplary homemaker, Maria found joy in cooking, caring for her loved ones, and creating a welcoming space for all. Her hobbies included spending time with family, taking trips, camping, engaging in heartfelt conversations over coffee, tending to her plants, and appreciating the beauty of the outdoors. She enjoyed lots of music, especially trio and mariachi, which often filled her home with joy.

Friday, February 23, 2024, a viewing will be held at Carrillo's Tucson Mortuary, 240 S Stone Ave, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., followed by a Rosary recitation from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. at Santa Cruz Church, 1220 S 6th Ave, with interment at Holy Hope Cemetery.

Maria Dolores Valles's legacy of love, wisdom, and generosity will forever be remembered. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave.
