IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maria De
La Luz Ruiz
December 31, 1932 – August 18, 2023
Maria de la Luz Ruiz "Marcela", was a very loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She lived a very happy and fulfilled life for 90 years. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on August 18, 2023.
Marcela is preceded in death by her parents Felix and Consorcia Foncerrada, some of her brothers, sisters and her late husband Jesus Ruiz Coronado with whom she shared over 40 years of marriage with. She is survived by her siblings Consuelo, Rosalva, Jose Jesus Foncerrada, 4 Children, Lucy Ruiz, Jose Francisco Ruiz (Luchy Rodriguez), Felix Jesus Ruiz (Hylda Ruiz) and Alma R Teso (Tony Teso). She has 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
She was a devoted member of the Catholic church. She was also a member of El Rio senior center where she participated in many events and competitions and won a lot of them. She enjoyed being around her friends, family and most importantly her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her wittiness, her ability to laugh at anything and most importantly her style. It was important for her to have her makeup done, her hair styled, and her nails manicured. She had a very active social life and loved to participate in social events. During her later years in life, she met a very special companion, Simon Castaneda, who would become a big part of her life. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren made a special bond with her by not calling her nana or abuela, to shorten mama Marcela instead they called her Cela which brought her pride and joy.
Dearest Marcela, your family will miss you immensely, but we know that one day we will meet again in heaven.
