Maria "Chayo" Alvarez, born on October 7, 1951, in Tucson, AZ, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024. She was a kind and loving woman, strong in faith, she dedicated 30 years to religious education.

Maria will be deeply missed by her husband, Richard Alvarez; daughter, Cindy (Erika) Alvarez; son, Javier (Gloria) Alvarez; her 5 grandchildren, Javier Jr., Angelica, Kassandra, Miguel and Eric, and 3 great-grandchildren, Aiden, Lilly and Noah, all of whom she cherished. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Sr. and Estanislada Flores; brothers, Henry, Jose Jr, and Tony; sister, Rose. The youngest of five siblings, Chayo is now reunited with her loved ones.

Maria was a devout member of St Kateri Parish - Cristo Rey church, where she found comfort and community in her faith.
