It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margarita Valencia Zacarias on Wednesday, August 14 at the age of 72. Margarita was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was born on June 10, 1952, and her life was a testament to love, resilience, and kindness.
Margarita's journey through life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and friends. She was a pillar of strength, known for her warm smile, generous spirit, and the love she showered on those around her. Margarita's home was always filled with laughter, delicious meals, and the comforting presence of a woman who made everyone feel welcome.
She was deeply proud of her family and passed down rich traditions to her children and grandchildren, ensuring that her "family first" principle would continue to flourish in future generations. Margarita had a passion for traveling and going to the movies with her closest friends which brought joy to her life and to those who had the privilege of sharing these moments with her.
Margarita leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. She is survived by her children: Diana Valencia, Eric Zacarias, Miguel Zacarias, Zinnia Zacarias, Arturo Zacarias, and Juan Zacarias. She is also survived by her nephews, Miguel Urcadez and Mauricio Urcadez, whom she lovingly nurtured and guided from a young age, becoming a second mother to them. Her grandchildren—Stephanie Mungarro, Adriana Mungarro, Teresa Mungarro, Ruben Mungarro, Rihanna Valencia-Davenport, Catalina Zacarias, Eric Alejandro Zacarias, Hannah Zacarias, Michael Zacarias, Ruben Zacarias-Bravo, Xilonen Bravo, and Juan Desmond Zacarias—will forever cherish the memories and unconditional love she imparted. She is also survived by her brother, Mario Urcadez and her best friend and partner, Frank Gallardo. Her absence will be deeply felt, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who knew her.
Mass will be held on Friday, August 23 at 10:00 am at St. John's Catholic Church followed by a Celebration of Life at Café Santa Rosa Banquet Hall from 2:00-6:00 pm, where family and friends will gather to celebrate her life and bid her farewell.
Margarita Valencia Zacarias will be remembered for the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the legacy she leaves behind. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May she rest in peace.
