IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Manuel H.
Orona
January 29, 1947 – December 17, 2025
Manuel H. Orona, lovingly known as Manny, entered eternal rest on December 17, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Manny was welcomed into heaven by his parents, Manuel and Aurelia; his sisters, Helen, Olga, and Belen; his brothers, Joe and Robert; and his beloved nieces, Helen and Adri.
He leaves behind a legacy of love through his devoted wife of 55 years, Cecilia Oviedo Orona; his cherished children, Andrea Pruett (James) and Roman Orona (Alice); and his treasured grandchildren, Ariana Orona, Serina Orona, Jorden K.C. Pruett, James Pruett and Benjamin Pruett.
Manny is also fondly remembered by countless extended family members and friends who held him in the highest esteem and will forever carry him in their hearts.
Born on January 29, 1947, in Tucson, Arizona, Manny lived a life defined by quiet strength, service, and selflessness.
As a young man, he served as an altar boy at Santa Cruz Catholic Church and attended Tucson High School. Answering a higher calling, he left school to enlist in the United States Army and was later deployed to Vietnam, where he proudly served two tours with the 173rd Airborne Brigade.
For his bravery and unwavering dedication, Manny was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and later received the Purple Heart, honors that reflect his courage and sacrifice in service to his country.
After returning home to Tucson, Manny worked in construction/carpentry and then in 1975, began a long and honorable career with Southern Pacific Railroad. After 30 years of service, Manny retired as a Carman Inspector.
Following his retirement, he devoted himself fully to what mattered most—his family, his faith, and helping others. He found his greatest joy in time spent with his grandchildren, assisting at church, and lending his skills to family and friends, always ready to help and never seeking recognition.
Manny's life was one of humility, devotion, and love. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched, and he will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.
