Obituary

Luis M. Moreno “Tutú”

Luis joined the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on April 20, 2026. He is preceded in death by his father, Luis Moreno Sr. He is survived by his mother Dolores, brothers, Jesse (Sunday), Carlos(Rosemary), and Julio and sisters, Ana (goddaughter, Annarose), Sandra, Candelaria (Arthur), twelve nephews and nieces and three great nephews.

He dearly loved his daughter, Krystal (Frankie) and grandchildren, Aubrianna, Josiah, and Mariah.

He is also survived by the love of his life Malena with whom he shared 20 precious years; stepson, Joseph (Britney) and grandchildren Wyatt and Marisela.

Luis was born on November 16, 1964 in Bakersfield, California. His parent’s pueblito of Moctezuma, Sonora was one which he called his own as he cherished the times he would spend there with family and many friends. He lived in Tucson since 1974. As a young man, he started his career in the building trades. He was known as a dedicated worker and until his last day he worked as a project superintendent, a position he held proudly. He was also very proud to come from a long line of cowboys. He loved rodeo, especially steer wrestling.

Luis lived a beautiful life. He lived it to the fullest. He was loved and adored by many. He had a kind heart, a strong spirit, and a soul that touched everyone around him.

We will forever miss his humor, his love for music, eating out, road trips and good times. The love he gave the memories he created, and the lessons he shared will live in us forever.

Though he is no longer with us in body, his love remains, his legacy lives on, and his spirit will guide us, always.

We thank you Lord for the gift of sharing him with us. While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing he is with his dad in heaven surrounded by love and peace, and that he is safe in Your hands, Lord.

Luis was one of a kind, there will never be another one like him… “You will be immensely missed, we love you, and this is not goodbye, it’s until we meet again.”
