IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Luis Ortega
Alvarez
May 10, 1945 – April 29, 2024
Luis O. Alvarez was born on 10 May 1945 in Lochiel, Arizona to Leopoldo and Consuelo Alvarez, the fourth of eight children and the eldest son. Luis spent most of his life in Tucson where he graduated from Tucson High School. It was in high school where he would meet his future soulmate Ruth, whom he would go on to marry and start a family with, raising their three beautiful children. He and Ruth were married for over 57 years.
Luis was a force of nature. His tireless work ethic, self discipline, intelligence, and drive for excellence fueled his passion for providing for his family. Luis would go on to establish Aristocrat Printing and Design, which he ran for 38 years until his retirement in 2014. As a business leader, he displayed his great generosity repeatedly giving back to his community and providing opportunities to many people. Luis enjoyed golf, but without any question his real passion was always centered around his family, and for any friends that he considered family that extended beyond bloodlines.
He possessed a sense of humor unlike any other making quick friends of any stranger with his jokes and warm smiles. His legacy lives on, in the lives of those who knew him, sharing the funny stories and the many nicknames he bestowed upon his loved ones. He is dearly loved and missed by his friends and family whom are forever grateful for the time and memories shared with him.
Luis was preceded in death by his parents Leopoldo and Consuelo Alvarez. Siblings Delia (Gene) Martinez, Trini (Edna) Alvarez and Cristina (David) Kurz.
Surviving family includes his adored wife Ruth Alvarez. Children: Luis (Cathy) Alvarez, Danny Alvarez, and Adriana (Anush) Alvarez Collins.
