Kevin, 43 of Tucson, AZ passed away unexpectedly the morning of December 2nd, 2025.

Kevin was born in Auburn, New York to Michael and Mary McCarthy, and was the second of 3 children. Kevin graduated from Flagsta􀆯 High School, class of 2000 in Flagsta􀆯 AZ. Kevin attended Arizona Automotive Institute where he received his Deisel Mechanic Certification.

Kevin loved his family first and foremost, followed by outdoor activities, and recipes! Kevin adored his wife of 17 years, Rachel and is beyond proud of her most recent accomplishments in her career. He cherished his kiddos and loved being a dad – one item of note is that he loved touring Zoos around the country with them.

Kevin was an amazing brother and best friend; he talked to his siblings as part of his daily routine. Kevin always checked in on them, provided support, casual chat, great to know info and notes on cooking strategy. The pinnacle of our family's summer this year was being together on a vacation that Kevin planned in celebration of his brother's big 40. It was a huge investment of his time, and he was passionate about making it a trip to remember, which will forever be in our hearts and cherished in our memories.

He had a special bond with his late father Mike, participating together in things like boy scouts during his youth, hunter certification training as an adult, fishing, camping, hiking and even being awarded the family of the month by the Knights of Columbus (along with his mom and dad). He loved both of his parents deeply and we as a family would spend countless hours talking through our fondest memories of them. Kevin provided care and support for his late mom, Mary Jean, before her passing just last year.

Kevin challenged and beat the odds with his own health to ensure he could continue to be our rock always, especially for his wife and two children. His thoughtfulness and the memories of his care and constant unwavering love will be with us forever.

Kevin is survived by his wife Rachel McCarthy, children Andrew and Mackenzie; his siblings Katie (Derek) Koster and Joe (Ashley) McCarthy; his nieces and nephews- Brielle, Avery, Keegan and Archer, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents Mike (Mack) & Mary Jean McCarthy, grandparents Anne and Mack McCarthy and Pat and Bill Barrows, uncle Steve Barrows, cousin Corey McCarthy, great aunt Mary (Mimi) Conley and special cousin Barbara Jean VanDitto.

Mass will be held on Friday December 12, 2025, at 10am at Corpus Christi Parish in Tucson AZ.
