Ken was born in Northbridge, Massachusetts, to George and Lucille Mongeon. Raised in a military family, he lived in many places throughout his life; however, Tucson ultimately became his home and held his heart when he met his beloved wife, Elaine (Tarwater).

Ken is survived by his loving wife, Elaine; his daughters and sons; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his two brothers and sister. He left us unexpectedly, and his absence is felt deeply by all who knew and loved him.
