Celebrating the Life of Juan Velasquez

Juan Garcia Velasquez, the steadfast patriarch of the Velasquez family, departed this life peacefully on June 19, 2026, at the age of 95. He leaves behind a profound legacy of hard work, love, and unconditional devotion to the family that was his ultimate pride and joy.

As one of eight children born to Eleno and Amparo Velasquez in Miami, Arizona, Juan learned the true meaning of family and resilience from a very young age.

He is now peacefully reunited with the love of his life, Carmen Rivera Velasquez, who passed away on March 13, 2026. After 74 years of marriage, they cultivated a beautiful life and an unbreakable bond; their legacy will continue to echo through the generations.

Juan was a man of quiet impact. While he possessed a gentle demeanor, his presence was a constant source of stability and comfort for everyone around him. He took immense pride in providing a welcoming haven for loved ones—a place defined by hospitality, good conversation, and a genuine open-door spirit. As he would say, everything was “Perfect”.

Juan’s spirit lives on through his children: Yolanda (Thomas) Tovar, Norma (Carolina) Juvera Velasquez, Amparo Velasquez, and Gilbert Velasquez. He also leaves behind a multi-generational lineage of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who held him in the highest esteem.

In addition to his beloved wife Carmen, Juan was preceded in death by his dear son, Johnny Velasquez.

His memory will be cherished forever by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
