Joseph C. Villegas

Joseph went home to God on January 4, 2020 after a brief illness.

Joseph was born on June 8, 1965 in Tucson AZ, where he lived most of his life. He graduated from Tucson High in 1983, attended the University of Arizona and started his work life for ASUA concessions. After his time at ASUA, he worked for 7-11 Corporation, ARCO Corp, managing several different stores. He then began what he was best known for, his career at IBT's in several different capacities, but mostly as a security guard. His legion of friends and customers knew him as Poppa, Poppa Bear and Poppa Joe. He was a beloved figure, always willing to lend an ear and offer advice or help if it was needed.

Joseph was preceded in death by his brother, Ruben, father, Robert, his beloved pitbull Chester and pomeranian Cassie. Joseph is survived by his mother, Connie; brothers, Robert Jr. and Steven and best friend Carolyn. And then there's Penny his loyal companion and fierce protector for the last 14 years. She is the best friend and dog a man could ask for. Joseph was a longtime animal lover and advocate for them. Joseph adored his mother, always taking her to lunch or dinner or trips to the casino, buying her gifts and sending her flowers. Joseph's death was unexpected, he will be very missed by his family and friends and pitbull Penny!
