Joseph Francis Rowles's Obituary

Joe was taken into God's loving embrace on April 17, 2015. Born on June 22, 1924 to Stephen, Sr. and Frances Rowles in Ardmore, OK - one of nine children. Of Chickasaw, Scotch/Irish heritage. He attended Sherman Institute at Riverside, CA. Joe met and married his love, Anita Narcho. He entered the Navy - assigned to the U.S. S. Hector. After serving he joined Ironworkers Union Local #75 where he became business agent during the Tucson Titan Missiles Installation. Next, he became National Director of Minority Apprentices of Ironworkers in Alexandria, VA., a Union/ Labor Department Program. He was a devoted union man. Loving all sports he fished and hunted. In retirement his passion was golf. Joe is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anita Stepsons, Chester Delgado and Jim Moreno. Survived by his daughter, Patti (Manny) Velez Sister, Catherine (Jim) George. Also survived by nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joe was loving, gregarious, honorable and helpful. He will be remembered and missed. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Community Food Bank in his name.
