Our beloved Lolo, Jose Dolores Martinez, passed away peacefully in his home on December 2nd, 2024 at the age of 87. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tomasa Reyes Martinez and Jose Martinez along with his siblings, Concepcion Ruiz. Josephina Ramos, Victoria Cocio, Jose Cosmo Martinez, Aurelio Martinez, Florentino Martinez, and Rodrigo Martinez. He is survived by his wife, Eva Martinez; daughter, Felicia Martinez and his granddaughter, Miranda Martinez as well as his brother, Dionicio Martinez and sister, Isidra Peralta. He will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, in- laws and loving relatives.

Jose was known for his quiet demeanor, generous heart, sense of humor, and good looks. He was a man of many talents. He was a builder, designer, a hunter, fisherman, bee keeper, gardener, and baseball player. While he loved keeping busy, the thing he loved most was his family; his three girls. He married the beauty next door, his "Angel" and loved her until his last breath.

A rosary and viewing will be held Saturday December 7th, 2024 at the North Chapel of Carrillo's Tucson Mortuary from 1-3 p.m. A small reception will follow at the Santa Rosa Mission community hall.

Finally, my father was an avid garden, but oddly enough he did not like the smell of funeral flowers (carnations.) So, in lieu of arrangements, please plant some flowers in your garden and remember our dear Lolo when they bloom.
