Joel T.
Gutierrez
Sep 7, 1951 — Sep 6, 2026
Sahuarita, AZ
Joel T. Gutierrez, 74, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on September 6, 2026, just one day before his 75th birthday. He was born in Tucson, Arizona, on September 7, 1951, to Raquel and Higinio Gutierrez.
Joel was the oldest of five siblings. He is survived by his brother, Ruben, and his sisters, Raquel and Carmella. He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Higinio, who passed away earlier this year.
Joel was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Hope Gutierrez, and his son, Greg Gutierrez. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his two children, Marsha and Joey.
Joel was known for his incredible work ethic and dedication to his family. He spent his career as an industrial bricklayer, a demanding profession that reflected his strength, determination, and commitment to hard work. Even after retiring, Joel never truly stopped working. He was always finding something to do, always keeping busy, and always willing to lend a hand. In fact, he would often joke that he even dreamed he was working.
Those who knew Joel knew that helping others was simply part of who he was. If someone needed help, Joel was there. He gave his time, his strength, and whatever he could to anyone who needed it. He had a generous heart and was loved by so many people he met throughout his life.
Above all, Joel cherished his family. His love, hard work, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His legacy will live on through his wife, son, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and friends.
Joel will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Though he may have finally stopped working, we can imagine him still finding something to do wherever he is -just as he always did.
You were loved, you were needed, and you will never be forgotten.
