Obituary

Joe believed in the the simplicity of living a life with those you love, living within your means and he built his life around helping others.

He delivered pints of milk and newspapers on the doorsteps of his neighbors in Barrio Viejo at the young age of nine. Every dime he earned went to help support his younger siblings Gloria, Michael, Thelma, Jenny and Frances.
Joe attended Tucson High School where he excelled in gymnastics and baseball. On graduation night in 1969 he left Tucson to join the U.S. Navy.
Upon returning home he quickly took up as a butchers apprentice which became his lifelong career.
He spent the majority of his life  working at the Davis Monthan Airforce Base commissary and Grant - Stone Market alongside  his friends and second family.
Joe took extreme pride in his daughter Sonia Alissa and two grandsons Joaquin Daniel and Luque Santiago, bragged about them every chance he got, gave them silly nicknames and spoiled them, giving them everything he didn't have as a child "because he could".
Dad enjoyed hunting, strong coffee, his sweets, a woman that smelled good, home cooked tacos,  Packers football and a good curse word.
He was generous.
Many people saw him as strong and that is why his passing came as a shock.
Taken too soon from a Virus that changed the world and OUR lives forever.
Private services will be held for family at Carrillo's' Tucson Mortuary.  Dad always expressed how important it was that everyone still have a place to visit with him. His final resting place will be Holy Hope cemetery with his parents Mike and Dolores Barajas.
