Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jesus Andres "Toto" Medina, who departed this world on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at the age of 80 in Tucson AZ. Born on Tuesday, October 12, 1943, in Santa Cruz County, Arizona, he lived a life marked by unwavering faith, hard work, and an immense love for his family.

A devout Catholic and a lifelong miner, he dedicated his life to the values of perseverance, faith, and family. He was a loving father to Mark A. Medina, Marliza A. Medina Spears, Andy Medina Jr., and Maria Medina Andrade. His legacy continues through his eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy and pride.

He was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 51 years, Alice E. Medina; his daughter Marliza Medina Spears; his sisters Gloria Robles and Maria Medina; his brothers David and Arturo Medina; and his parents, Andres and Elena Medina. He is survived by his sister Delia Medina, brothers Carlos and Gilbert Medina, alongside his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. His love for his family was profound and beyond words, a guiding light that will continue to shine in the hearts of those he touched.

The Medina family invites friends and loved ones to join in commemorating his remarkable life. The viewing will be held at Carrillo's, located at 204 S. Stone Ave, on Thursday, February 15, from 5 pm to 9 pm, with the rosary at 7 pm. A Mass in his honor will be at St. Augustine Cathedral, located at 192 S. Stone Ave, on Friday, February 16, at 10 am. Following the Mass, he will be laid to rest at Holy Hope Cemetery.

In celebration of his life and legacy, friends and family are also invited to a Celebration of Life at The Fraternal Order of Eagles, located at 1530 N. Stone Ave. This gathering will be a time to share memories, laughter, and stories of a man whose life was a testament to love, faith, and the strength of family bonds.

His departure leaves a void in our hearts, but his spirit, love, and the memories we shared will forever be a part of us. As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, let us carry forward the legacy of love and family he cherished so deeply.

In lieu of donations, the family requests participation in the Potluck at his Celebration of Life.
