Irma Garza Borquez
March 27, 1958 - February 7, 2025
It is with great love and sadness that we announce the passing of Irma Garza Borquez on February 7, 2025, at the age of 66, surrounded by those who loved her dearly in Tucson, AZ.
Irma was born in Tucson to Reynaldo and Juanita Garza, and from a young age, she embraced life with warmth and joy. A graduate of Sunnyside High School, she went on to work at Hughes and Texas Instruments, where her kindness and work ethic left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Irma's heart was as big as her smile, and her presence could light up any room. She had a gift for making people feel special, with a kindness that radiated from within. Irma's love for her family, especially her grandchildren, was immeasurable, and she poured that love into every meal she made. She cherished the moments spent camping and gathering with family. Family gatherings were the cornerstone of Irma's world, where she created memories filled with laughter, warmth, and love.
Irma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Borquez, her brother Bobby Garza, father Reynaldo Garza and mother Juanita Anaya Garza. She is survived by her significant other, Rick Urbina; her sons, Joseph (Julia), Jonathan (Maria), and Jesse (Brittany) Borquez; her 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, 4 brothers, 2 sisters as well as a large circle of friends and family who will forever hold her memory close.
Irma's legacy lives on through the love she gave, the lessons she taught, and the memories she created. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will remain with us always.
The Borquez family would like to extend their gratitude to the medical staff at Banner Main Hospital on the 3rd, 7th and 8th floor Tower 1 for providing exceptional care during Irma's illness
