IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Irene C.
Samaniego
April 1, 1927 – August 9, 2025
In loving memory of Irene Carbajal Samaniego, 98 years old of Tucson, Arizona passed away on Saturday August 9, 2025 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.
"I have so many things to be thankful in this lifetime. First and foremost is that I was fortunate to be raised in a home with loving parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and my 8 siblings... ...Didn't we have some great times! We weren't rich in material things, but we were wealthy beyond belief in family and LOVE" ... Irene
Born on April 1, 1927 in Bisbee, Arizona. She lived a life filled with love, gratitude, and quiet strength. Her love for family was boundless, her kindness, compassion, and deep faith shaped every chapter of her life. She had a gift for making others feel seen and valued, and her strength never came in loud displays but in a gentle, steady presence. She was happiest when she held a baby in her arms and her proudest moment was when she became a "Nana". As a child she welcomed each day with curiosity and a sense of adventure.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ignacio Carbajal, and Maria Bustamante Carbajal. Husband Bernardo Samaniego; beloved brothers Frank and Ignacio "Kito" Carbajal.
She leaves behind her daughter, Imelda Cardenas, devoted son-in-law, Mark Cardenas and the light of her life - grandson Marcos Cardenas. Her beloved sisters, Oralia Flores, Beatrice Macias, Eva Cordova; her brothers, David, Danny, Eddie, and many beloved nieces, nephews, friends, and God children, who will miss her dearly.
Her life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and resilience. She filled our lives with kindness, joy, and gratitude, teaching us to embrace each day with compassion and grace. Her life reminds us that LOVE is a legacy we carry forward - and hers will live in our hearts forever.
A special heartfelt thank you to Maria Valenzuela, Irene's dedicated care-giver and honorary family member. Also to Irene's besties Margaret, Stella and Jackie from Most Holy Trinity Parish.
