IN LOVING MEMORY OF

In Loving Memory
Henry Lowe Quihuis
October 26, 1941 – June 20, 2023
It is with great sorrow that our family announces that on the 20th of June 2023, our Patriarch, Henry Lowe Quihuis, 81 years young, was reunited with our Lord and Savior. Henry passed peacefully on Tuesday morning with his loving bride Poncella at his bedside.
Henry was a Tucson native and graduated from Tucson High School, where he was a member of the 1959 Tucson High State Baseball Championship Team. After completing his service with the National Guard, Henry was employed by Tucson Unified School District, then moved on to work and retired from Raytheon Aerospace.
Henry was a Tucson native who loved playing sports and was always considered an admirable competitor whether it be in baseball (1959 Tucson High Badgers State Champions), Softball (All AZ Fastpitch Softball team), Billiards (Ranked in the top 25 AZ Pool League Statewide Standing), Darts, Bowling (Southern-Ca Semi-pro Bowling League) or Golf (Carried a single digit handicap most of his adult life) he could be counted on to contribute and compete. Henry was also a gifted artist who could paint or sketch landscapes, portraits, or just about any request freehand, most from memory. In his later years, Henry loved hosting the Quihuis Family Golf tournaments with his Godson, Michael Edward Quihuis. Henry also loved to cook and could often be found side by side in the Kitchen beside his loving wife.
Henry loved family; whether it be weddings, birthdays, holiday gatherings, showers, baptisms, and reunions, the whole family would always know which celebratory card was from him because it would always be detailed with beautiful artwork and designs that were never duplicated. He spread joy all over the city, whether it be his million-dollar smile or one-of-a-kind holiday window paintings.
Proceeded in death by his parents, Mike and Bertha Quihuis, brother Michael, sisters Ernestine and Alice, and his beloved daughter, Michelle. He is survived by his loving wife Poncella, Daughter Denise (Bruce) Mandel and Sons Michael Henry (Raquel) Quihuis and Rodney Quihuis, Son-in-law Craig Woodruff, Grandchildren Michael Rubin, Sarah (Nick), Joey (Alyssa), Jordan (Samantha), Jacob, and Victoria, Great grandchildren Dominic and Elizabella, Siblings Anita (John) Ramirez, Barbara Vasquez, and his brother Eddie, Godson Michael Edward Quihuis (Sylvia) & his son Michael Alexander, Family, and Friends.
What was shared above is familiar to most of us, but what may not be as widely known was that Henry was always the first to say "Thank you" for anything that was done for him, for his family, or for his friends, so from his wife, his children, his loved ones, and his friends we would like to say "Thank You, Henry!" You are loved and will be greatly missed.
