IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Henry R
Mesa
July 15, 1940 – August 5, 2025
Henry R. Mesa, 85, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025. Born on July 15, 1940, in Tucson, Henry was a proud native of the city he called home his entire life.
He graduated from Pueblo High School and went on to serve honorably in the United States Navy aboard the USS *Coral Sea* ("Ageless Warrior"). After his military service, Henry dedicated over 40 years of his life to the Union Pacific Railroad, where he worked as a skilled carman. His strong work ethic, quiet strength, and deep devotion to God, family, country, and community left a lasting legacy.
A passionate and lifelong baseball player and fan, Henry not only excelled on the field but also loved watching both Major League and College Baseball—especially when the UA team was playing. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, generous spirit, and the unwavering love he showed to everyone around him.
Henry is survived by his loving children: Belisa Martinez (Frank), Michelle Flores (Eddie), and Anadine Lopez Storey (Ted); his siblings: Maria Duarte (Rene), Hector Mesa, Arturo Mesa (Yolanda), Gilbert Mesa (Mercy), and Carlos Mesa Jr. (Grace); as well as many nieces and nephews. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren—each of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
He will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
