IN LOVING MEMORY OF
George Mel
"Stitch" Roat
June 2, 1961 – March 21, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of George Roat, a hard-working man whose spirit and kindness touched the lives of everyone he met. George was known for his enormous heart and his unmatched hugs, which brought comfort and joy to family and friends alike.
George is survived by his loving wife, Dina, who was his partner in every endeavor. He is also mourned by his mother, Barb; his sister, Kari; and his brother, Reece. His legacy continues through his adult children, DJ, Janelle, and Yvette, who will forever cherish the lessons and love their father imparted. He was a proud grandfather to Gage, Skye, Alias, Maizie, Rianna, Brayden, Kolton, and Rider, and he delighted in the joy of being a great-grandfather. He is also survived by several cherished nieces and nephews.
George was the type of man who would give the shirt off his back to ensure that others were cared for. He always had time for his friends and family, offering a helping hand with a warm smile. His dedication to those he loved was unwavering, and his compassion knew no bounds.
In addition to his loving nature, George had a passion for working with his hands, whether it was through his profession or his many hobbies. He found joy in riding motorcycles, fishing, and playing golf, often sharing these experiences with loved ones.
George's sudden departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him. As we gather to celebrate his life and the many memories he created, we are reminded of the love, laughter, and kindness he shared with the world.
Rest in peace, George. Your love and spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
