George Romero, 80, of Tucson was called home to the Lord on March 17, 2025, while at home with family.
Born in 1944, he was the son of the late Alejandro and Altagracia Romero. He married Irene Romero in 1972 and together raised their three children, Raymond, Tina, and Gracie. They later raised their granddaughter, Georgianna. George was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. George, also an Army Veteran, retired from Tucson Plumbing and Heating. He had a love for sports, his family's softball team The Hawk's, bowling and watching his favorite football team, the Patriots. He loved listening to music, dancing, sharing stories and telling jokes. His greatest achievement was the beautiful family he raised.
He is survived by his wife Irene Romero, children, Raymond Romero (Susan), Tina Contreras, Gracie Loya (Rolando), grandchildren, Teresa Romero, Georgianna Drees-Wasmer, Raymond Romero Jr., Terina Romero, Rolando Loya Jr., great grandchildren, Luis Carlos Romero, Logan and Ezra Drees-Wasmer, Desirae, Leliah, and Emily Romero, his sisters Anita Romero, Josie Powe, Olivia Padilla and sister-in-law Josie Romero. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Romero, and sisters Frances Saucedo and Ofelia Flores, and brother-in-laws Juan Saucedo, William Powe and Ruben Padilla.
