George enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Panama during his service.
He played an active role as a member of the American Legion Cocio-Estrada Post 59 for 50 years.
He served as the Post Commander and other various roles throughout the years.
George was a great storyteller and could talk for hours swapping stories with comrades and telling jokes. He loved listening to live Spanish music any chance he had. He also loved watching his old western cowboy movies, reading the newspaper front to back, and watching sports including professional Football and Baseball. He always cheered the loudest for the U of A Wildcats, LA Dodgers and any team who beat the Dallas Cowboys.
Tata George loved to "kid around" with his grandkids and solve word puzzles. He would tell stories about the past and loved hearing about the grandkid's daily activities. He also loved his coffee and pan dulces and always had a secret stash that he would share with the grandkids.
George will truly be missed, and his spirit will live forever in our hearts.
