Gabriel R. Figueroa, 42, of Tucson, Arizona, peacefully passed away on January 26, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Diagnosed with a brain tumor in May of 2023, Gabriel faced his illness with unwavering courage until the end.

A proud graduate of Tucson High School, Gabriel forged enduring friendships with the brothers who assisted him during his daily radiation treatments. It was during his time in high school that he met his future wife, Danielle, with whom he shared a lifelong marriage, raising two wonderful children, Gabriel and Daniela.

For nearly two decades, Gabriel served as a dedicated officer of the Pima County Sheriff's Department, where he sought to mentor and support his fellow correctional officers, alleviating the challenges of their demanding and dangerous profession. Known for his welcoming and humorous nature, Gabriel formed connections with all whom he encountered, readily offering assistance regardless of the task at hand.

Gabriel had a profound love for traveling, relishing the moments spent with his beloved wife and children. He also harbored a deep passion for sports, frequently attending various sporting events and passionately supporting the University of Arizona teams.

Gabriel is survived by his devoted wife, Danielle, and their children, Gabriel and Daniela. He also leaves behind his parents, George and Frances, as well as his siblings, George (Kristie) Figueroa and Francine (Miguel) Bracamonte. Gabriel will be dearly missed by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and support staff at the University of Arizona Cancer Center for their compassionate care of Gabriel, in addition to family and friends who have shown their love and support during this difficult time.
